Follow our itinerary from Lefkas island in order to explore the nearby gems of smaller islands.

  • Lefkas town has changed three capitals through the years. The ancient Nirikos, the medieval Agia Mavra and today’s town, built in 1684 by the Venetian Francesco Morosini, based on the model of the Venetian cities. Stroll around the alleys and discover the beautiful houses.
  • Aghia Mavra Castle, located at the entrance of the island, is the most impressive building in Greece. It is a model of fortification architecture of the Middle Age. It protected the capital from the first decade of the fourteenth century until 1684.
  • Some of Lefkada’s best features are its churches. They include basilicas, with the influence of Venetian architecture.
  • The archaeological museum is a small but important museum, whose findings date from the Middle Paleolithic Age up to Roman Years.
  • Faneromeni Monastery located on a hilltop approx. 3 km west of town will astonish you with the unique view on the lagoon and the town.

  • Scorpios was the island of Aristotelis Onasis, a small green island with fantastic bays to swim .
  • Kastro on Kalamos island, a small island at the southeast of Lefkada combined the unique nature with incredible clean waters. The highlight on this small island is the pine forest!
  • Sail to Ammoudoula beach where the cave Fokotrypa stands and it is only accessible by boat.
  • Agiofili beach on the south coast, just west from Ammouso it is a quite an isolated, small-pebble beach. The area is well-loved by windsurfers and it is also possible to go canoeing.
  • Egremni beach is in the far South West and one of the most beautiful beaches on Lefkada . By far it is the most difficult to approach beach BUT you get rewarded as the beauty of it is unique. Now it is only accessible only by boat since they need to fix the 296 steps.
  • The Skorpios Island is private (owned by the Onassis family), but as long you don’t cross the high water mark you can anchor on both sides of a small sandy isthmus south of the island.
  • The entrance to Sivota Bay of Lefkas island is sometimes difficult to make out. Once in, you can anchor at the east side just around the cape or – if you proceed through the dogleg – you can anchor anywhere in 3-8 m. There are quays on the south and west sides with water, tavernas etc.

  • The port of Vassiliki is located in the south-east of Lefkas deep in the large bay of vassiliki. In the west side of this bay – close to the village Pondi – is a nice anchorage (anchor in 4-8 m). The actual port is located in the east of the bay and is very shallow.
  • The landlocked Vlikho Bay provides good all-round shelter to anchor in a muddy bottom of just 8-2 meters. Anchoring off the quay of the quiet Vlikho village can be uncomfortable in stronger daytime winds.
  • Nidri village, however, is more boisterous, just like the fair but crowded inlet across. Outside July, August this inlet is a must anchor and you can use the sunken coaster here to tie an extra line. The Nidri quay self provides water, fuel etc. but places you in the middle of yacht charter bases, tripper boats, ferries etc.
